Tiles can be found in almost every home or building. There are so many types that they can be used for many purposes.
The COVID-19 pandemic put the case for tiles that are easy to clean, without joints for germs to grow in.
But many manufacturers have also developed “Healthy Tiles” for the new normal that stay free of germs and bacteria:
Anti-bacteria tiles tested by Chulalongkorn University's Department of Microbiology in the Faculty of Science resist over 99% of bacteria, including Staphylococcus Aureus (which causes nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and acute food poisoning) and Escherichia Coli (which causes high fever, severe diarrhea, and urinary tract infections).
Hygienic tiles with silver nanoparticles in their paint have been tested and approved by the Japanese industrial standard JIS Z-280, making them suitable for any areas that require special antibacterial protection, such as kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, resting areas, or outdoor entrance.
Healthy tiles are another interesting well-being material that can help protect our homes from harmful germs. Manufacturers should seize this chance to focus more on health.
