We know that color shares feelings and affects our mood. But did you know it’s also good for you?
Each color has a different wavelength and frequency. These reach our retinas and affect our receptors to trigger emotions, moods, and hormones. Color can influence our mind and body in many ways.
- "Yellow" can soothe distress and improve digestion.
- "Orange" can counter depression and heal asthma.
- "Red" can boost energy and red blood cells.
- "Purple" can bring inspiration and balance the inner body.
- "Green" can reduce stress and blood pressure.
- "Blue" can bring down high blood pressure.
- "Light blue" can relieve lung disease and pain from illness.
Soft, warm colors can stimulate our autonomic nervous system, affecting our blood pressure, heart beat, and body temperature, according to a study by Faber Birren in 1950. Blue suits bedrooms, especially if you struggle to sleep, with its cool and calm tone. A placebo sleeping pill also works better if it’s blue.
Color affects us more than we think. If we use it carefully in each part of a building, it will help us in our activities and boost our health, bringing balance and long-term well-being.
