Bio Filter Bus Stop: Innovation for good air quality in our society

Urban pollution affects us all whenever we’re outdoors. But it’s especially bad if we rely on public transport and have to wait at a bus stop each day, breathing in chemicals, particles, and germs.
But what if bus stops let us breathe good air?
“Bio Filter Bus Stop” is a study by RISC into air-purifying systems for outdoor locations, especially bus stops where many of us must wait.
The "Bio Filter Bus Stop" is different because it has…
- A Bio Filter or Plant Wall, with plants selected for their ability to trap PM2.5 particles and reduce the temperature of their surroundings.
- An electrostatic air-purifying system to trap particulates (like the Fresh One air purifier https://www.facebook.com/riscwellbeing/posts/2494077847522050). The system is free from filters, eliminating waste. Its ozone system meanwhile kills pathogens.
- Resting points with outlets of filtered, disinfected air plus airflow to make us feel more comfortable.
This research can benefit society and could be applied in many areas.
