Having a pet is a key to happiness. Lots of us want to adopt a pet. A lot of studies also suggest that having a pet boosts mental health and reduces fatigue, as does being a caregiver for the elderly or visually impaired. Not everyone can have a pet, though, due to health issues and hygiene needs, as well as the size of our homes.

As the metaverse evolves, these issues will vanish, as we will be able to rear simulated pets in the digital realm.

Raising virtual pets is not new. Tamagotchi gamers adopted synthetic animals via a gadget like a small oval leaf. They fed them, played with them, and took them whether they went. On advanced mobile pets you can adopt cats in Cat Room, play with frogs in Tabikaeru, farm in Hayday, and even adopt zombie cats in Cat Zombie.

Digital pets will be more realistic in the metaverse era. You’ll be able to call them, feed them, walk them, hold them, or even scratch their bellies just like real cats. In VR games you’ll raise them from newborns, watching them grow into large dogs. In the Bogo VR game, you can adopt dragons with dogs with psychic abilities.

Raising animals in the digital world is a fun way to add fun to your life during this stressful period. Let’s open our minds to the possibility of raising animals in the metaverse.
