RISC applies on its research to launch “Fahsai Mini”, an Air-Purifying Tower to reduce Particles & Germs Available to purchase at Dsupreme by December 2021
“RISC is a research and innovation center for sustainable well-being of all life. Its research findings are not only used by MQDC but also publicly available to benefit society. We developed and built the first generation of “Fahsai I”, a city-level air-purification tower, in 2020. In 2021, it was developed into “Fahsai II” to boost effectiveness against bacteria and viruses. Another development to keep up with the situation by experimenting and enhancing efficiency resulted in “Fahsai Mini”, a smaller version that can be applied in any urban environment with high population density. Our goal is to contribute to the solution of air pollution and expand to more areas," said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh.
Fahsai Mini is one of several research outcomes from RISC under its 7 Key Strategies for Health & Wellness, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals of Good Health and Well-Being, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Life on Land.
Mr. Vithit Arparpardh, President of Dsupreme, said “Dsupreme is delighted to have been selected by RISC to distribute Fahsai Mini, which helps reduce air pollution, PM2.5, and germs, which are on the rise as the year ends. The device also promotes a healthy environment for Thais. The air purifier is expected to be available to purchase from December 2021.”

"Fahsai Mini" applies a wet scrubber system to build a prototype hybrid air purifier tower that combines 800 watts of solar panels with grid power to reduce its electricity demand during the day. The device is designed for environmental health and sustainability and to enhance human well-being. It was developed based on the 2 previous Fahsai models by being smaller for easier transportation and installation while providing similar capacity to purify the air of PM2.5 and kill bacteria, fungi, and viruses.
Fahsai Mini is streamlined to a height of only 3.20 meters and a base width of 1.35 meters for easy access to the installation area. The 2 inlet blades draw in 30,000 cubic meters/hour each, with 2 blades totaling 60,000 cubic meters. The 4 outlet fan blades discharge 15,000 cubic meters/hour each, totaling 60,000 cubic meters/hour, covering an area of approximately half a football field.
The air purifier works by drawing the air from the sidewall with an exhaust fan through a spray nozzle system into the cylindrical chamber until a cyclonic pattern is formed. Then the air flows through 2 layers of high-speed sprays. The layered structure traps dust and raises the surface tension of the water to capture particles from 0.3 microns or larger, smaller than PM2.5 and PM10. The air is disinfected with a UVGI system to produce clean air that is released at breathing height and driven by fans to achieve the desired volume. The hybrid energy system is synchronized to use 600-3,000 watts/hour and only 50 liters of water/day. There is also a recycled water system with ozone technology and water filtration.
